Abstract

This study aims to increase the activity of students in science learning. This research is motivated by the low activity of students in science learning activities in class IX D SMP Pembangunan LaboratoriumUNP. Through the implementation of guided inquiry learning models, it is expected that there will be an increase in student activities in science learning. This research is in the form of Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 28 objects in class IX D. The study consisted of 2 cycles, each of which consisted of 3 meetings. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in student activities in science learning. This is evidenced by the average percentage of student activity values in the first cycle of 45.51% and increased to 75, 87% in cycle two. Increased student activity occurs because all the syntax of guided inquiry learning involves students to be active in learning. So that it can be concluded that the guided inquiry learning model in science learning can improve student activities
