Peningkatan Kemampuan Menulis Teks Prosedur dengan Menggunakan Media Gambar Seri pada Siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR)was done at the second grade social sciencesstudents of SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang involved 33 students. The research is aimed at(1) describing the improvement of learning process on writing procedure texts using picture series media for the second grade social sciences students of SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang, (2) describing the result improvement of writing procedure texts using picture series media for the second grade social sciences students of SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Thequantitative data were collected through test and thequalitative data were collected through observation and interview to the teacher. The results of the study showed that (1) the learning process gone well and students were active in carrying out the learning activities, (2) picture series could change the classroom situation to be more alive, and (3)picture series could improve the students’ ability in writing procedure texts. It could be seen in the improvement of the students’ writing score from the first cycle until the second cycle. There were 64% students who passed the test in the first cycle, and 82% in the second cycle.
