Abstract

Assessment of learning outcomes is a mandatory instrument that must be done by a teacher in carrying out learning in the classroom. The school lecturer assignment program (PDS) produces good collaboration between lecturers and teachers, starting from preparing tools and methods of learning and good assessment for quality learning outcomes. HOTS-based assessments require a higher level of cognitive assessment at levels C3 to C6. Through HOTS assessment students are taught to think critically and be able to analyze every problem and real issue. This study aims to describe how students respond to HOTS-based assessments. This research is a descriptive qualitative study using interviews and tests as data collection. The results of the research obtained state that less than 50% of students have not been able to solve the HOTS problem in the first stage of the test. Whereas in the second stage test 75% of students were able to solve HOTS problems well. In addition, the results of thisthis study indicate students are able to master HOTS-based questions in solving economic problems.
